How to Beat Traffic Cameras through Education and Technology.

If you've ever been the victim of a traffic camera then this website is dedicated to you! Let's begin with some history of traffic cameras, why they came about and some legal, ethical and moral issues and finally, some simple ideas you can use to protect yourself from traffic cameras.

If you're a "history buff" then you might be interested to know that some of the first "speed cameras" were put into use by race car drivers who wanted to improve their consistency in different turns of a race course. The information the cameras provided helped them to be more consistent and wind up in the winners circle more often!

There are several red-light camera systems in use today to catch you when you're being naughty! Our purpose here is to educate you so that #1 you'll be a safer driver and #2 you can protect yourself and not get a ticket due to minor negligence. We DO NOT condone outright breaking of the law by anyone. It's dangerous to others and... it's against the law!

If it ever crossed your mind that the camera that captures YOUR license plate or car was not properly calibrated... that is a thought that can likely be discarded quickly. Speed Cameras are routinely calibrated and the certificate of calibration must be available if it is required in court. Speed Cameras are used around the world and there are cases everywhere that have been thrown out due to "out of certification" errors... so today those cases are not likely to happen again. Just don't speed... and if you do, don't get caught on camera!

There were Issues that caused the use of some "Red Light Cameras" to stop being used in places like the state of Virginia, here in the USA. There was a legal issue in that if the summons was only "mailed" to the violator and the violator did not show up in court, they could not be fined since they were not properly "served" a summons. Other "Big Brother" issues have been a challenge in some locations. A few local governments have voted the red-light cameras out and others were removed when the expense did not justify the end result which was the intent of reducing accidents at intersections. Other issues include the payment of "private contractors" who benefit when more citations are issued.

Countermeasures that you can take to prevent getting your license plate photographed are few but we highly recommend the use of PhotoBlocker Spray to reduce the chance of getting a ticket from Red-Light Cameras or Speed Cameras.
